I Filed My 1st Noise Complaint Tonight

We got good windows out here. Once it's closed and the ac on you don't he was shyt from the streets. And they play music till 4am every weekend weekday if the weather good except for Monday nikkaz pack up early

We have the Jamaicans rockin out
Then we have the Dominicans/pr music rockin
Then we have the young kids with their music.... shyt don't stop but I'd rather hear music than gunshots and ppl mournin/crying.

You did the right thing OP. I hate neighbors like that and wish them nothing but ill will and misfortune throughout the family tree.

Had neighbors like that at my old apartment. Blasting video games, testing out the Sonos speaker, and acting like I don't have a fukking child trying to go to sleep along with myself and my wife. When I came home from work one night, dude was blasting some shyt music, so I A Town stomp the floor to get them to stop.

They got the message after the failed landlord didn't do shyt about it.

Thankfully, we left but holy hell, I really REALLY REALLY hate neighbors on that ignorant party hardy shyt

i'll just add be careful with confronting neighbors especially here in NYC. i got into an argument and almost a fight with an ignorant neighbor. these days i just call the police then the management office to make a complaint. they stopped but now i have other neighbors that are leaving their garbage outside they're door all day instead of just taking it downstairs to the garbage room smh like who raised these people

I don't trip, unless it's absurd, if it's between 10 am and 10 pm on a weekday. On the weekend I don't trip until after 12 am. Play your music, watch a movie, and don't mind the noise as long as it's not shaking my place or I feel like I'm listening right next to you. I play music loud too.

However I don't fukk around outside of those time frames. I'm really sensitive to not getting sleep and im saying something or calling someone. I've had to do it maybe twice and both times I talked to the folks instead of calling the "courtesy officer". But I'm not going to clown someone for calling someone if someone is playing loud ass music at 11 pm on a Wed night. At that point, that person is saying fukk you I don't give a fukk if you're my neighbor and you may need to go to work in the morning. I'm doing what I want.

If you politely ask them to stop being noisy and they just ignore you, I feel you are justified in filing the complaint. If you didn’t talk to them face to face first though, you’re in the wrong

My thought is that if you're already blasting music and you know you have folks nearby it's disturbing we are past asking you shyt. Nobody is that slow. I refuse to believe it.

When I lived in London. Me and my ex brought a place and then a few weeks later discovered the guy downstairs is a massive peice of shyt with no regard for any of his neighbour's

Like you I don't mind if someone wants to play music on a weekend till 12 or so but during a weekday after 10? They can fuxk right off.

The first few times he did it. I was talked out of going down as all he'd do is stop then just do it again a day later. It took a year, but we finally got him kicked out of the apartment. Guy was a dikkhead.
