Are u not reading the thread? Im far from the only one with this point of view. More and more people are waking up to how ignorant and plain out stupid black music has become. I have these convos offline as well. Tell me why love & intelligence doesnt get the same platform that ignorance, black genocide, dope dealing, promiscuity, extreme materialism and the gang/prison culture gets. Even r&b has turned ratchet. Why are you ok that music marketed towards the black community is the only music that glorifies these things? Did u see that Bobby SchMURDA audition vid? Rap has been a detriment. But its more of the artists than fans.I find it funny that people don´t remember positive rap being sort of shunned by most ninjas out here and people want to act like its the record execs that put a block on on positive rap material. Gangster rap was poular to the fans because they had an appetite for it, through the years all the potent content couldn't be internalized well since most people don't analyze the music correctly. But its not just gangsta rap, its rap culture today that has hampered the psyche of most African Americans and blacks in the diaspora.

Spot on. Black culture(more specifically the youth) is pretty much dictated by the hiphop culture. How ppl dont see this is beyond me.
