She had two of the best R&B/neo-Soul albums of the 2000s

"Two of the best R&B/neo-soul albums of the 2000s?" As a Neo-Soul/Alternative-R&B connoisseur, I can't let you get away with such a terribly wrong statement.

What album has she created that is anywhere close to the same planet as the following?:

D'Angelo -- Voodoo
Erykah Badu -- Mama's Gun
Jill Scott -- Who is Jill Scott?
Musiq Soulchild -- Aijuswannaseing
Musiq Soulchild -- Juslisen
Bilal -- 1st Born Second
India.Arie -- Acoustic Soul
India.Arie -- Voyage to India
Floetry -- Floetic
Floetry -- Flo'Ology
The Foreign Exchange -- Leave It All Behind

...and that's just off the top of my head real quick. I could double this list, easily, with some more time. You're reaching hard if you think anything Janelle Monae has ever done is in the same class as any of these albums.

all of her music flops
how is she still around??
she still fine tho

She's basically a more melanated Amanda Diva.... planted from the start... can never get her wack ass music popping... nobody likes her, but shea butters and white hipsters... semi-decent actress... just kept around as a feminist gatekeeper in Black pop culture.

she been annoying since the moment she came out.

but ever since she cut that abomination off her head and stopped dressing like jimmity cricket, I been wanting to smash.

I watched that fakkit ass moonlight movie twice, just for her.

When I win I bring we with me
Bjork is my favorite solo singer ever.
Yet, I am open to giving someone else props in the genre, bjork created.
if they were good.
Yet monae is not good at all.
Monae is the biggest low quality ripoff solo artist damn near in the genre ever. Monae, morcheeba, sneakerheads, spooks and esthero are garbage.

To this day only one artist in the genre of rnb has been able to do that type of genre specific records and that is Marsha ambrosius and that is only for one record. As Marsha stays in her rnb driven lane with a nod to the genre because it is bigger in her native arena. Yet monae and others are complete no talent ripoffs and need to create their own genre or stick to making rnb.
The whole trip hop wanna be acid jazz arena the likes of monae and others need to get better in completely. Or leave the genre and biting completely alone.
Janelle monae is an insult to anyone who listens to what this genre is.
Only one's even remotely trying to give props is late, a band Wagoner and a fake emo poser like damn near everyone else since 1997.
shyt is a complete joke.

:picard:

Wait sneakerheads or "sneaker pimps":whoa: ...if your talking about "sneaker pimps" then :dahell:

I'm a huge fan of bjork ...got into her stuff(Homogenic) around the same time as jamiroquai(Travelling Without Moving) hit. I was always into videogames more than music but bjork & jamiroquai were two artist I would consistently buy that wasn't hip hop. That said I have no clue why you would try and throw monae and bjork in an antagast position. I like both monae & bjork and don't see the overlap at all.:ld:
In terms of esthero the only issue I have is that nothing matched that first album :francis: ...but that first album tho:whew: I can listen to the whole thing no skips. I love to drive out and cruse to that album:ahh:

You lost me on this one bruh :hubie:
BTW, Jamiroquai 1st / Bjork tie(or close 2nd):lolbron:

cant quite put my finger on it but she has this disingenuous vibe about her..it made me fukk with her music less and less and i've been checking for her music ever since i heard her solo joint on that Big Boi tape way back.I do feel that she has been swagger jackin 70/80's artists to the point that i doubt she realizes it herself. That last joint is such a blatant Prince rip off that i feel it's kinda disrespectful

Is she as tiny as she looks? :lupe:

And ya'll buggin ArchAndroid was fukking amazing. It STILL get heavily rotated in my R&B playlists.
Yea she's is her skin is amazing .

I've met her twice but I've seen her 3 times .

The third time it was after the concert walking to her bus .

She stopped and talk to fans real quick .

She is petite but has a shapely body .

The first two times I couldn't tell because she had on those suits .

So she's doing our music and that's swagger jacking but y'all love burno :mjlol:.

Not only is she the only artist in the last 20 years prince gave a feature to but he also mentored her.

Get your facts straight .

In the sky
I never really liked her and her music is not that dope. I tried giving that electric lady a run and it was very mediocre.

She had two of the best R&B/neo-Soul albums of the 2000s, but you find her annoying because of some imaginary notions of who she is :dead:
nikkas in TLR are too much sometimes :deadrose:
Just imagine thinking about someone you'll never meet so much that actually create personality traits for them :heh:

Yeah, ArchAndroid was pretty good. I still play these two songs fairly regularly:

Great list but put some respect on Glenn Lewis' - World Outside My Window
