I feel you but there was this little white cat that followed me home one day(while I was waiting to get my car fixed).
Picked it up, cleaned it, fed it and took it to a shelter...
I regret not keeping it..

if u keeping him outside, it really don't take a lot to take care of him. Food/water and litterbox for the garage. Flea bath a few times a month(you might get fukked up on gp cuz they don't play that shyt)
Other than that, watch for racc00ns and possums and other cats(thieves). They keep snakes and mice away.
