Akron has the ball at the 1 yard line and they line up in the spread and run a fukking toss run play out of the shotgun??

I get that it works between the 20s, but bytch you at the 1 yard line. So let me get this straight, instead of lining up in a goal line, I-form shyt and let your QB run a little sneak play to push forward for 1 yard, you think it's a better idea to make your RB run an extra 7 yards to have to get into end zone?

I don't give a damn. ONE yard is all you need. You got two chances. Even if you get stuffed once you get a second try from the same spot. If you get stuffed on a shotgun run, you are 3-4 yards further back. shyt is just stupid.

I agree.. a spread offense on the one yardline is disgusting.. Oregon did this all game long against Auburn in that national championship game three years ago

The spread should be just a formation, not a offensive philosophy. Have the tools ready to run it, but have your FB and TEs ready to rock.

I see why some teams go full-game spread, but it's not a good system for critical situations when you need to muscle up and put nikkas on they backs.

I used to scream at the fukking TV when MIzzou would do that shyt. To me as long as they were doing that chances were they'd have never beat any really good teams since they sucked in short yardage situations. I can handle the offense overall but throw that shyt to the bushes for short yardage and go big and bang.

Yep. It would be 4th and inches and they are running a shotgun run from 7 yards out and get stopped in the backfield. I hate the spread for a short yard play.
