To be fair I was a nerd and that type of shyt interested me as a kid, but most of the people I knew growing up weren't aware of previous history like that.


I'm 35 and if you asked a teenager about Watergate when I was 13-17 they wouldn't know anything about it.

Only thing I remember floating around as a topic amongst teenagers was 9/11 conspiracies.

Not necessarily. This means he's learning from the present and not the past which in turn could mean he knows less but could also mean, he's a quick learner, i.e someone that has common sense. There's alot of people who know "history" but are academically or practically inept. Its just happenstance that someone that knows about the Great Depression would also know how to change a tire or manage their finances.

History is a great teacher when it comes to what to do and what not to do in life… using someone else’s failures/successes as a blueprint to modify your own plan in life. Seeing their patterns, habits, mistakes, etc… It’s what wise people do anyway.
