just watched it, i'm curious to ask, what made this movie so interesting to you that you had to watch it four times? am i missing something? I mean I get that it's unsolved but.. I can't help but feeling like something is going over my head :patrice:

Well, I didn't watch it back to back viewings. It's been 7 years since it came out and I'll stop on it here and there. I'm more interested in the case than the movie. Not even all of that case, just the cryptography and the circumstantial evidence linking multiple people. The movie and book just got me started on the reading.

The book/movie only presents a one way look into the case and there are much more interesting things. Nothing went over your head, the movie is pretty average.

Watched Zodiac again last night. Love that movie. I still think it was multiple people. Leigh was obviously one of the killers.

@Type Username Here You or anyone know any good documentaries or youtube docs on the Zodiac? I'd love to see what has been discovered after all this time.

I've watched the film 4 times, read Graysmith's book, dug around the internet. I always keep going back to it.

To me, it's far more interesting than all the other serial killer cases because there's about 3 suspects that could have legitimately done the killings. A new suspect was brought forth last month but the circumstantial evidence isn't as strong.

For those who want to do some reading:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zodiac_Killer

This website (warning: it plays sound automatically and was made in the late 90s) has a real good collection and scans of the killer's letters and ciphers (some of which has never been cracked):

Zodiac Killer | Zodiac Killer Ciphers | Zodiac Killer Letters | Zodiac Killer Codes | Zodiac Killer Police Reports

The site above also has a good summary of the evidence on all likely suspects (Allen and Gaikoswki) being the main ones, and Marshall being third most likely.
Whoever did it is dead, move on

Probably some random homeless guy did it

I wouldn't say I was obsessed with THAT case, but I have read a lot about it.....and I loved that movie. A good book is John Douglas The Cases That Haunt Us, it has a chapter on Zodiac, and presents some very credible, very grounded, theories.

The book is by the guy who was essentially the first FBI profiler, (the show Mindhunter is inspired by him and his book), so it's more about the type of offender that commits those very specific types of crimes, and communicates with police. It doesn't have any revolutionary theories, he basically agrees with Arthur Leigh Allen being a very credible suspect, and that he fit so much of the profile exactly, but he stops short of saying that he WAS in fact the killer.
