EA was tight on who they gave 90+ ratings to back then. Duncan should've been higher than a 91 though.

Yeah Duncan was a 91 and KG was a 97??? Those ratings were rough. Basically high 70s - to mid 80s is All Star caliber (Dirk = 84, Finley = 82, Nash = 78)

Then anything in the upper 80s and beyond was elite. Kinda like the setup where there's a real gap between average, good, all-star and MVP candidate but some of the ratings were low as fukk

I had switched to NBA 2K by 2004 or so. It was the one with Iverson on the cover with the ESPN logos/presentation. That was around the same time 2K was killing EA in basketball, football and baseball games. Well, maybe not baseball because MVP Baseball 2004 & 2005 were classics
