man music don't hit like this no more
We might just be getting old, cause most of these dudes now a days just sound like souless Demons.

Its weird to explain these new nikkas make music for the algorithm which makes it sound soulless. And now they bout to have A.I making soulless music with our dead legends.

part of it is age. I can remember my pops reacting to snoop and pac how i react to this new shyt.

I'm biased but the shyt was just better all around then.

Most def, the other part its easier access by everyone to recording equipment. Pitch correction, autotune etc. So these nikkas don't rehearse. In Our days they had to put that shyt on tape so they had to have they raps down pat. And also battling/cyphers played a big of the culture.
Also for the amount of people rapping or making music there is lil variety. There was more styles and lanes.
the game now is reduced to is opp this snitch that :russell:

Part of it is for sure age, but the cultural shifts indicate where the music's "heart" is or what it is lacking.

These guys provided some version of guidance and moral authority to us as kids. And I think post Recession/Post social media, post 9/11/, post streaming, all these cultural and generational differences those "moral values" have shifted.

The production is also different, more layered, more refined.

Breh, I really do think about it a lot. Like, has the onion fell so far from my belt or is the modern music just that bad?

Back when in 9-3 an old head round my way used to call Snoop and Dre "Genocide rhymes over stolen beats". I paid him no nevermind as I enjoyed the dopeness in all forms that spoke my lingo... Yet now I think exactly the same thing about these demonic heathens of the next generation. Basic ass beats, cookie cutter rhymes and an attack of the clones. Last point especially was verboten if you're a head because originality was king and now biting is the trend.

Its something so huge and obvious that it might as well be invisible but that doesn't deny the fact that what I said is how it is. Are all of our arguments about modern wackness because we aren't on the same drugs the kids are as their hormonal levels are surging and they vibe with a voice that reps what they feel within? Isn't that exactly what the old head was saying back when? Or has music objectively devolved?

Its a deep topic because there is much reason behind the rhyme but the dumb are hypnotized by the drum...
