I put in my bid for a promoted position a few months back, and I recieved the final go-ahead today after a flurry of interviews.I work for local government so things move so slow.

I was/have been, a Tech Manager for a while, it took a bachelors and a masters degree, and a perfect track record for me to even get/stay there, and now the promotion puts me at an Administrator classification.

Going from $6,186, up to $7,232 every month.

My two older brothers have already told my parents and they're beaming, it's a great feeling.

Breh's , Im actually proud of myself. I worked so hard and got dumped on/disrespected/doubted every step of the way for so long, but I'm still working on moving up.

This is some good news, I wanted to let yous guys know that brothers are still excelling out here.

We're out here getting it.

You came out of DePaul without a job?

What did you major in?

If you want a Govt job, here in IL, you have to take a CMS test and also put in an application, which, if you're coming back in the fall, you need to do that ASAP.(as in like this month)

The people who have the highest test scores get the interviews and jobs first, and veterans get automatic point bonuses, so you need to score high.

That's the governments way of evening things out, I couldn't get you in the door if I wanted to, best I could do is be a reference

Thats only at the state level, if you work for the city then you don't have to do any of that, just apply and you're damn near guaranteed an interview if you have a degree. But you didn't hear that from me.

I've posted on here before about me and both of my brothers co-owning businesses(property and computer repair), and I'm a vendor for iForged/360/HRE as an explicit side hustle.

I've never had just one source of income, People may consider me a cornball or whatever for going so hard with the education, but I'm a hustling a** dude. With my merits included putting my taxes together last year I crested $100k and I'm just shy of turning 30, that took work, but I guess working at all is now considered a slave mentality? Looks like Dame has changed the game
