I'd ask for quotables/receipts but you'll just post whole verses/songs or go mute :russell:

Who are the 100 rappers that have debut since 1995 that are better than Lupe? I'd like to hear this.

good spin :ehh:

When you've got underground cats like Royal Flush (1997) and total randoms such as Encore and Colored Section who made singular tracks better than anything Lupe ever made, then you know there are hundreds

Won't waste my time listing them all.

Straight out the fukkin' dungeons of rap
What I think some Lupe fans don't get (and maybe even Lupe himself) is you can be as complex as you want and stretch a metaphor for as long as you want but that in itself doesn't make a rhyme dope but I'm not gonna go all the way in on Lupe here
it's the fact that he does it in an unparalleled manner is where his draw his. It's not the fact that he does metaphors, it's the totally unexpected comparisons and puns that come from his left field perspectives that drive his metaphors. As he's doing all that, he still manages to flow AND have elite rhyme schemes that rival shyt like Elzhi and Eminem. I'll forever give him props for offering his listeners a test every time. Many times it's enough to overlook the fact that he may not have the best mic presence, or the best beats.

Lupe honestly didn't become overly cryptic until after Food and Liquor II. Even his more lyrically dense tracks before that (Twilight Zone, Dumb it Down, Failure, etc.) aern't THAT hard to figure out what he's saying. He way more complex now compared to the way he was spitting before.
