Mariota doesn't turn the ball over

*Notices that he leads the league in fumbles*

I should've been more specific: He doesn't turn it over in the red zone

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Marcus Mariota came into the league with a steady pulse rate and a preternatural calm about him.

Those don’t change when he leads the Tennessee Titans' offense inside the 20-yard line, and that's not the case for many young quarterbacks.

On a shrunken field, operating with less space, Tennessee’s second-year quarterback has been especially good. It’s perhaps the surest sign, among many right now, that he has a big future ahead of him.

Andy Dalton 37
2004-08 Philip Rivers 36
2012-15 Kirk Cousins 32
2015-16 Marcus Mariota 30*
* Still active
Source: Elias
Only Detroit’s Matthew Stafford, who’s in his eighth year, has done better work in the red zone since Mariota came into the league.

Mariota has a 116.3 passer rating, with 30 touchdown passes, no interceptions, a completion percentage of 65.4 and has taken just two sacks.

Get mad :umad:

Mariota and Winston have nearly identical numbers this season.

I still think Winston won't work out as a pro quarterback. But to date he's proven me wrong.

You could do A LOT worse.
Like Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Mariota is my guy , domed him up in high school and all...

But not sure if he wants to be lumped with those names :patrice:

Breh he's not turning it over in the redzone. That's the point

Winston looks like Cutler out there at times

He's an average QB. I know the Jameis defenders will try to defend him and talk about what he doesn't have on his team, but Jameis has a lot more than Mariota and is coming off a better rookie season with most of the same players back. He's a mediocre QB out there

Say dumb shyt brehs. Winston has 27 TD's and 1 INT in two years-no picks this year.

So what you saying:why:

Jameis has put up comparable numbers with one weapon and no line. Meanwhile Mariota has had an elite rushing attack and line.

Ya nikkas continue to amaze me with your stupidity.

Jameis: 2,349 19 10 (9 games)
Marcus: 2,482 21 8 (10 games)
Bucs: 4-5
Titans: 5-5

Horrible thread considering their numbers are so similar.

Jameis has played most of the season without Vincent Jackson, Doug Martin, Sims, and Jenkins who they had to cut. He lost his his backfield, #2 WR, and #1 TE. Why do people mention the INT's when he only has 2 in his last 5 games while throwing 11 TD's? His only multi INT games were vs Denver and Arizona.

Mariota had more INT's than TD's through the first 4 games vs good opponents (Hou, Oak, Det, Min). He's been on fire lately vs sub .500 teams save for one (Cle, Mia, SD, Ind, Jax, GB).

They're both playing well and neither is outpacing the other. They're both on pace to be good. Stop trying to create conflict and enjoy both players.

1 star
