Gotta clarify breh. Mariota fell to the Titans, they never had a chance to pick Jameis. That said Mariota's been the better player. More dynamic, cuts down on the turnovers and making the most of a mediocre at best roster. Jameis has not proven he is any of that...he's just proven to be a mediocre QB :yeshrug:

Jameis: 2,349 19 10 (9 games)
Marcus: 2,482 21 8 (10 games)
Bucs: 4-5
Titans: 5-5

Horrible thread considering their numbers are so similar.

Jameis has played most of the season without Vincent Jackson, Doug Martin, Sims, and Jenkins who they had to cut. He lost his his backfield, #2 WR, and #1 TE. Why do people mention the INT's when he only has 2 in his last 5 games while throwing 11 TD's? His only multi INT games were vs Denver and Arizona.

Mariota had more INT's than TD's through the first 4 games vs good opponents (Hou, Oak, Det, Min). He's been on fire lately vs sub .500 teams save for one (Cle, Mia, SD, Ind, Jax, GB).

They're both playing well and neither is outpacing the other. They're both on pace to be good. Stop trying to create conflict and enjoy both players.

1 star

ESPN Total QBR has Winston slightly ahead

DVOA has Mariota ahead by a good bit.

So basically its been about a draw really.

Mariota #9 in yards (2,482), #18 in completion percentage (64%), #7 in rating (99.6)
Jameis #17 in yards (2,349), #26 in completion percentage (60%), #23 in rating (82)

So Mariota is better than him across the board, less turnovers and more wins on a weaker team. Like I said Mariota is a better prospect at this point, doesn't mean Jameis is a bust, but Mariota has elevated his game this yr and he's the better QB right now

Winston's Passer rating is 87.5
He's played one less game.
He's played tougher defenses with less talent around him (due to injury)

Advanced statistics show that he's better (PFF/ESPN QBR....another one shows Mariota is (DVOA).

Its about even breh.

To me its like Andrew Luck/Russell Wilson. It really just depends on what type of QB you prefer.

Bucs have had one of the toughest schedules in the league with a slew of injuries to their team and the titans play in the afc south and they have the same record

A weaker team? :mjlol:

Murray is one of the best RBs in the league and their offensive line is very good.

Meanwhile in Tampa, we have guys from the fukking practice squad lining up at RB and our offensive line is complete garbage. Jameis also has 1 weapon.. Jackson,Martin,Sims, and Jenkins all gone.

Once again, you up in a thread talking on matters you know nothing about :camby:

If the Titans had picked Mariota over Winston, then they would have "made the right pick". But they didnt have a choice in the matter. I'm almost positive if they did, they would have picked Winston, just like 99% of people would have done in that same spot. If anything, the argument should be that they made the right choice by taking Mariota over Leonard Williams, but even then, it's a wash because Leonard Williams has proven to be every bit as good as advertised
The Titans still technically made the right pick.

No, they didn't have the choice of Winston or Mariota, but they they could have easily traded the pick away. Especially considering how much the Eagles were offering to get him.

By staying put and taking him, they made the right pick. OP technically isn't wrong by saying that :yeshrug:

Yea my bad on the bold, but his ranking is still the same. One less game doesn't account for the fact he's committed more turnovers, is less accurate and has a worse rating. I know y'all want to play this as close, but it's not as close as you'd like to believe. Mariota is starting to ascend, Jameis is still a mediocre QB...look at his rankings breh. :mjlol: at the excuse being Mariota hasn't played as good of defenses, y'all really come out the woodwork to prop ya boy up

:mjlol: @Jutt angrily responding to another one of my posts. No one had Tennessee as even remotely close to a contender in their division before the year started. No one. You had people who had Tampa as a low key dark horse in the NFC South. Fast forward to reality and you bums are back in your ancestral home of the NFC South basement, Jameis has done nothing to raise the level of y'all play. Mariota has. And BTW, you speak when spoken to breh and don't make me remind you again
