i think he was with Max for the recording of the whole album even the songs he didnt produce

and he produced the lead single, which is most important for the pop world

Dudes are just interested in name brands at this point... They do not even understand what pop is, or what Max Martin, does, how he does it, or anything of that nature.

They dont understand that working with Max Martin means that The Weeknd sold his musical soul, they don't even understand what it means for a song to be musically or culturally Hip Hop, Country, R&B or any other genres... they don't understand what a music genre is... or what pop music is... and thats OK but then they want to jump on and ride pop Producers and not even know what pop is... amazing.

It's crazy because if dude was walking down the street the average person would have no idea who he is

Imagine how many cats probably ignored/never noticed this man when they were trying to push their demos to C-List rappers and their entourages.

aspiring rapper: "Yo Tyga, listen to my material man, my spotify/soundcloud site is..."

Tyga: "Nah not right now, about to hit the club got no time for that."

Out of nowhere:
"Hey!"

"You look like you could use some help. Perhaps I...."

I'd recognize Max Martin, probably ask to get on his team
I've brought him up before on here, he's clearly a great in Pop music
but if I had to put him up against my personal greats, I think they'd eat that
man's lunch.

He's cool for what he does but I find it weird so many Hip Hop/R&B "heads"
are in this thread riding his meat like that. Gives me the feeling some of y'all
listen to Backstreet Boys more than Pac

wow... ok lets step back to the undeniable basics.

Hip Hop and Pop are musically extremely distinct and distant from each other.

Hip Hop is number one non melodic, Pop is melody driven
Hip Hop is generally non harmonic, Pop is heavily uses harmoney
Hip Hop is structurally based on 2 to 4 bar grooves, Pop is not groove based, and typically has a 8 bar cycle
Hip hop has no harmonic movement, Pop music is heavily based on harmonic movement via a few extremely common progressions
Hip Hop is alternating verse and chorus structure, Pop music structure is intro -> part A -> pre hook, -> chorus, -> part B -> chorus/bridge -> part A -> chorus/closing
Hip Hop is generally composed of non interacting layers, Pop music is composed of integrated instrumentation
Hip Hop hooks are call and response and/or chant driven, Pop music hooks almost always melody driven
Mixing wise Hip Hop is percussion and bass prioritized, Pop music is lead and rhythm prioritezed

Hip Hop is from a musical standpoint extremely different from pop...

now we get into intent and content... ahhh forget it yall aint even trying to talk facts
