I mean Lebron basically aksing for an apology because he was hit too hard :what:

But its not just him anytime a player gets fouled hard he looks like a crime was comitted against him..

Back in the day this was a commmon thing hard fouls, why are the nba players today such primadonnas?

Dont most people who play the game of basketball whter on the streets or at a high level expect at some point its gonna happen and is part of the game?

Why do players act so shocked?

It was the same back in the day...what do you think started a lot of the fighting, etc....noboby wants to get fouled hard even in street ball dudes are ready to knuckle up...

So people are just gonna be revisionist and act like people were just cool with fouls?

I hate how people act like everybody "back in the day" and everybody "in the streets" just let hard fouls go. You guys act like if you foul somebody hard at your local park, he's just going to stand up, keep playing, and not say anything because it's "part of the game". Or like when players in the 80s got hit hard they'd just stand back up and go to the free throw line and shoot free throws.

No. When that shyt happens on the street or back in the day, fights are started IMMEDIATELY. Try tackling somebody at your park tomorrow and see if they just run back down court like nothing happened.

The only reason that shyt doesn't happen in the NBA is because it's been regulated out. It's not that the players today are "soft", it's the fact that if they try retaliating they're pretty much asking for automatic ten game suspensions and the same people bytching about them being soft would then start to bytch about them being stupid. Complaining verbally is the only option at this point for them.

And the last point is what is this obsession with hard fouls being great for basketball and shyt? That shyt ain't even part of the game. On some real shyt, if you not making basketball plays you need to sit your ass on the bench. I'd much rather see an Andrei Kirilenko type trying to block your shot when you get to the lane as opposed to a Bill Laimbeer/Rick Mahorn type clotheslining somebody because they can't compete on an athletic/talent level. Let's just face it - "physical" play only levels the playing field for guys who really aren't talented enough to be competing against the players they're playing against.

The refs were also less p*ssy back then. They didn't call T's for players looking at them wrong or talking to them the wrong way... That's why players flop more. They need to sell the call to the officials because officials don't call a lot of shyt they should, and they have no recourse or forum to say anything about it. If a player tries to say something during the game, they gonna get a T. If they say it to the media, they gonna get fined. It's a lose lose situation...
It has nothing to do with the refs being p*ssy. You think the refs make up the rules and league emphasis on their own? No. It comes down from the top. Refs call the games the way they're told to.

Theyres a difference betwene how past players handled it and how todays player cry to the media acting like how dare somebody touch them

:bryan: and some how the league enforcing and regulating the other player's reaction has skipped and went straight into the player being p*ssy?

I really hate how fans can't see that there is more media in this day and age to ask these players how they feel about taking hard fouls.

I'm sorry, but there wasn't an analyst asking players questions before going into the locker after each friggin quarter, timeout or water break.

As much as I saw Magic bytch growing up, I'm certain he'd have something to say if there was a mic shoved in his face every five minutes.

They don't make the rules, but it's up to their interpretation. There's no one telling them to call one foul and not another. Like Steve Javie said on ESPN today, refs try to put their own stamp on the game's momentum and intensity. Back in the day, they didn't call techs for dudes looking at them sideways or call bullshyt flagrants like they did on Lebron last night simply because they felt like it.

so you can complain as long as you do it like a man?

what is complaining like a man again? :wtf:

Theres a difference between telling the ref to go fukk himself then walking away like

and telling all your fans some sad woe as me story to explain why you lost the game. posting your hurt feelings on twitter
