i'd say Hudson County is like NY (Jersey City, Hoboken and surrounding areas) but as far as the rest of North Jersey? well thats just North JerseyTrue. But you also can't really say North Jersey is like NY with that logic. Essex overall is more lowerish middle class with the exception of West Orange.
If anything from my constant traveling. NJ as a whole is more like a mixture mashup of Maryland and Connecticut than PA. The only unique addition is the shore.

I think I'm one of 7 people who love living in Jersey.
