I hate that I have so much pride..

I feel you. It's the African in me. But atleast it helps you in the end cause you know you're worth and won't let anybody play you.

But at the end of the day...it's all about making sacrifices.

You have a point. I think non-African americans have too much pride. Just hearing that its "all about making sacrifices" makes me cringe.

I turned down an internship at the Cato Institute back in my college days. I could have been getting paid hella bank to sh!t on Black people. Couldn't do it.

It's the same reason why I have qualms about going into entertainment. Back in college I learned what it takes for a Black man to succeed in that space and I couldn't stomach it.

I'm still just trying to carve my own lane out here. But it's hard. Once people detect that you have this dignity thing going on many will become jealous and seek to tear you down. It's wild.

Yea, I have a problem with rules and following them thats why I like being my own boss. I can't kiss ass to get a promotion. I don't like being subservient to anyone but in particular to white folks, I cant do customer service and listen to loud black bytches without going off. I wish I could just suck it up and just make that uncle tom sambo money like Flava Flav who has no pride

I hear ya...I do customer service now. Luckily considering what I do, I don't have to deal with attitudes and for the most part people are pleasant to deal with and I end up flirting with mad women on the job.

When I worked at McDonalds 10 years ago? Dear lord...talk about a nightmare.

I remember when I was just learning how to work the register and it wasa busy first day for me on there. I had all of these white people calling e stupid, incompetent, getting mad at me for no reason...shyt had me

My manager at the time saw I wasn't good at it and had me work the grill..
