Why you love money for??

Why don't you love the fact that you have a job and a steady income?

Why don't you love the fact that your in good health and your principles are in tact??
Money buys me foods, gives me shelters and allow me to buy nice things
I love that I am my own boss but my money isn't steady, its contract based/project based
I am grateful for my health, trust me on that but I am always looking to out perform myself and gain more financially

Like Raul said, this isn't pride. Pride is you had a son and took good care of him and were there for him. Pride is you were promoted for working hard and smart. Pride isn't bytching out cuz you think you're too good or above dealing with something.

:ohhh: Yo you right...I got a big ego. How can get over feeling less of person/man/human and put my ego to the side tho?
I'm not sure.
Maybe you have to change your perspective.

If you could make more money but choose not to because of the baggage that comes with that job...maybe you should re-evaluate the pros and cons.
Would you be putting up with bullshyt to get that money?
Sure. But maybe putting up with that bullshyt allows you the opportunity to provide for your kids. Or travel the world. Or achieve other goals that you have.

It's really just a decision that everyone has to make for themselves.
How much of your ego are you willing to put aside to get what you want?

But it's a slippery slope.
It's like that Dave Chappelle thing where he quit his show.
Name your price in the beginning..and if it gets to be more than that, then cut the bullshyt loose.

Nice screenname

Pride, ego, and humility all work in the same sphere of reference...It's good to have pride...but it's also good to check one's ego and to be humble.

Ya know...I'm working a job that I think would of been "beneath me" at an earlier stage of my life...but it's all about starting somewhere.

Sometimes I think...did I really go to college to do this? But then again..it's helping me be humble cause I think about what my dad/mom/family sacrificed for me and my family to live a good life. And if he made excuses and acted like he was above certain jobs cause he wasn't humble...we would of never been where we are...and he would of never gotten anything done.

It also helps me out to have a good work ethic and to be a hard worker. I think about the Tortoise and the hare story too.

I also think about the Mexicans working the grill at this pizza place I go to when I get lunch...sure people in customer service when dealing with them can be kind of dikkheads...but at the end of the day you're/they're/we're making money and their just kind of douchey and weak.

When I become successful...this will all be a part of my success story. People can be like "hey, this guy worked here"...better than being born with a silver spoon in one's mouth.

Shyt...I look up to people like 50 Cent...people who came from the bottom and made it to the top more than anything else. Cause once you've been at the bottom...you know what it's like and you're aware of what it takes to not be there again.

..its costing me money I can easily make....but I refuse to stoop to certain levels.
..its cost me good jobs....if only I were able to brown nose or kiss ass. I dont see how you nikkas do it.
..its costed me to have good relationships with people....fukk that, they can kick rocks before I bow down, I am right always

Its killing me that I cant get over this pride. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes..if we are talking in the workplace.. I suffer from this. I dont know what line of work you are in but I am in a sales functions where revenue is generated and when you generate money for someone they tend to put up with your bullshyt. So I can wave my finger and say.."eh, you kidding me..I aint doing that" or "you serious?, you cant expect me to do that shyt"

But if I fall back and the money dries up...so does the pride ...maybe

Pride?

Skeets, you do not lie very well just yet. MOST brown nosers are not sincere. They are just putting on the ritz.

You were not raised in a religious fundy home, else you would be a repressed, bloodless, sociopathic sycophant by now. You would be able to vomit, cry apologize, confess, charm, and/or kiss ass ON CUE without actually feeling any genuine emotion. (You would be a lil bit dead behind the eyes, doe.)

Start by telling people what you want them to know, but not until you want them to know it. Your point of reference should be strategy, not truthfulness. Quit being so emotionally honest. You do not have to win every squabble or impress every passerby. The important thing is that you get what you want.

I take pride in my family and my heritage.
I take pride in the caliber of friends that I have cultivated over the years. My social network is kinda neat.
I take pride in my accomplishments: degrees and awards earned, professional projects and publications completed, personal goals reached.

My job is NOT a great source of pride. At the end of the day, I provide a service to clients. If I quit showing up, another cog in the wheel would do the same stupid human tricks that I do. Also, I have not yet scaled the learning curve. My career remains a work in progress. I show enthusiasm at work, but...I manage my expectations. It's a long way from here to firm partnership.

Skeets, you would be more fulfilled if you completed your education and embarked on a career (instead of holding a series of jobs). You are capable of far more than you attempt.

Them Lo Lifes...
Pride should be reserved for achievement.
Pride is not synonymous with self-value or self-respect, although sometimes it can be.

Pride isn't costing you money.
Pride isn't costing you employment.
Pride isn't costing you relationships.

Ego is costing you those things.
THis dude HERE...this DUDE here....came in and shutteth thread down..
