but wouldn't have a starting job.

You still believe Rex thinks this shyt was an equal competition after yesterday? He put Fez in the 4th quarter because he was desperate to win a preseason game against the Giants and felt nobody else could do that but him.

Sanchez won the competition yesterday. Geno totally shyt the bed, looked lost. The fans at the game were actually asking for Sanchez.

Why would he have put him in? To just beat the Giants? Cmon....Sanchez's best argument for starting was the first 3 quarters of yesterdays game.

So Geno lost a job he never had in 3 quarters to a guy who's been doing what Geno did for how long now? All you're telling me is that Geno had WAY less margin for error than Fez, which tells you that this was never an equal competition.

If Geno is even going to be this bad, fukk it, let him play. If there isn't much of a difference between him and Fez, at least let me watch someone else shyt the bed. If I get the same results either way (Bridgewater), fine.

We're there to win," he said. "We had our starting offense out there for three quarters -- we're trying to win the game, that's what we wanted to do. … We're trying to compete. Everybody's out there and injuries are part of the game. … We'll see the severity of Mark's injuries. Obviously it didn't work out the way we wanted it to, but we're here to compete."

These are his words from yesterday.

You proved that point in this one game, right?

:what: You Jets fan actually believe in this kid? No it wasn't just this one game his college career, his play, his attitude etc.. plays into my opinion. Anyone expecting this guy to amount into anything is in for a rude awakening. He'll be out of the league in 3 years.

But the Giants are a much better franchise but they get one-forth the coverage the Jets get. The Giants have won superbowls, star QB, nice receiving core and defense but its Jets Jets Jets all the time. They're trying to hype up a QB controversy but it looks like both OB's are trash. I know Rex Ryan is good for a few sound bites but which coach isn't when the mic is in front of him 24/7. I seriously don't get it:mindblown:

ATL…overly
Lol, #67 with a huge blown assignment. The hell was dude thinking?

Thought Geno looked alright all things considered.

:wtf: 3 picks & a safety looked alright to you. He made a few throws, but overall he was terrible

@NYC Rebel I thought you were of the belief that it was bad offensive coordinators holding Fez back, not that Fez actually sucked himself

The Giants are boring as shyt and predictable, which makes people here not wanna talk about them. The Giants go about their business. You know they'll compete. They'll do the right things, win a lot, maybe even win a Superbowl. But they're vanilla.

The Jets offer the type of fukkery people here love... and they're bad.

Bad teams + fukkery = sports talk radio and opinionated article fodder.

The Giants don't get much said about them til playoff time. They're like the Yankees up until this year. When you handle your business and win, people here leave you alone until your season is over. When you're the Jets, Mets, and Knicks (and Rangers to a smaller extent) you'll get shytted on

The New York Jets might have to plan for the start of the regular season without Mark Sanchez.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday on "NFL Total Access" that Sanchez is viewed as unlikely to be ready for Week 1, according to several sources involved in the situation.

Sanchez is dealing with a deep shoulder bruise and has yet to throw since suffering the injury last Saturday against the New York Giants. The Jets still view the injury as day-to-day, but the organization is concerned he could be out of action beyond Week 1.

According to Rapoport, there is a growing understanding rookie quarterback Geno Smith will start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 8. Smith was held out of the Jets' preseason finale against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, though he was moving well while going through pregame warmups with quarterbacks coach David Lee.

Given the controversy that came with Rex Ryan's decision to play Sanchez in the fourth quarter against the Giants, the quarterback's "day-to-day" designation feels like the team's way of playing down the seriousness of an injury that was easily avoidable.

Either way, the door is now wide open for Smith. The rookie is a safe bet to hold onto the starting job if he can lead the team without calamity against the Bucs. We'll see about that.
:pachaha: I guess Geno didn't need a good game to become starter.
