I beat Zelda 2 over the summer when I was 7, no guides, no help. I still consider it one of the greatest accomplishments of my life :russ:
Breh…HOW

I remember it being sometype of weapon or something you needed to beat a boss later on in the game and unless you knew to get it you’d get all the way and be stuck

Same think with one of the ninja gaidens where you end up at a brick wall at the end of the stage with no hint that you need to summon a tornado or something

Because we were kids.
No

A lot of these older games were janky because arcades were still a thing

You make more money off each machine if the game is frustrating as fukk

Now that we have consoles at home they sell us half the game on release day and make it easy AF most of the time so we're left unsatisfied and wanting to quickly throw more money at another game or DLC

Fromsoft shytted on this concept by sticking to making unforgiving Japanese games and it balanced the scales a bit, hence their games selling crazy numbers

The Lion King was a standard difficulty game, it wasn't hard at all.
Yeah I don't get this thread. I beat it and Aladdin as a kid. It was not easy but far from being impossible.

The game I couldn't beat as a kid was Gynoug.

Only beat it on emulators a decade ago because I could scum save :mjlol:

I was in 5th grade playing Lion King on SNES. Super hard! That second level was a good test. Memorizing which elephant tail whips you to the right section.

I remember getting to the end and facing Scar. Got beat. I had no idea how to beat him and it was frustrating playing all those levels to get to him, only to die.i was getting closer and closer each time. I got to Scar a few times.

One of my favorite gaming moments was getting back to Scar in front of my brothers who were watching. I remembered the movie and thought maybe I should get to the edge of the cliff to see if I can throw him over. It worked! Huge sense of relief finally beating it.

The following Christmas my dad bought me the game for Christmas but I told him we had to return it, I already beat it. In retrospect I should have kept that copy of a snes classic.

I took a emulator and the LK rom to a friends house a few years ago, they played the game when they were younger but now they couldn't get past the second level. I don't think they beat it back in the day. It was hilarious to see how frustrating the game was for others. I'm unsure I have the patience to beat it today.
