Nah this is fukking garbage wealth distribution handout politics logic...

The idea the NBA's players and owners need to do more because the women can't carry their own weight is fukking comical bruh...

The NBA has been carrying the WNBA on its back since its inception...The WNBA would not exist if it wasn't for NBA bailing them out, they are always in the red and generate no revenue...

NBA players EARNED those bloated "overpaid" salaries via revenue gains, if they weren't putting asses in seats they would be getting paid like the women...

You get paid the way you do cuz your product fukking sucks, make it not suck and your salaries will go up...

The league was founded by the NBA (David Stern to be exact). Women had their own league (ABL) and the NBA created a competing league and forced the other league to fold, even though they had most of the talent.

This is on the NBA as much as it is the WNBA.

That's a dumb argument. She will be the number 1 pick when she's drafted regardless. And the WNBA has had top players come in and are still in the same boat.
And she’ll be one of the few that makes $200k, when they could all be paid the same and make more, including her :mjlol:

Women’s college ball is probably more pop than the WNBA

Hell the women coaches make more money than wnba coaches. Geno auriemma makes more than the uconn man head coach

I see plenty of women following the every move of the Kardashians, Meg, Cardi, etc. If women actually cared about supporting other women, there would be no gap in pay. I mean if it's not about the revenue being generated why does the NBA need to subsidize them?

Revenue is not the same thing as profit. The league brings in 60 mil but it costs more than that to run the league. The only reason it is around because the NBA foots the bill.

but the NBA founded the league, they OWN it. They’re footing the bill because it’s their league :mindblown:

Maybe the NBA should sell the WNBA and let someone else run it?

It would probably fold. I always assumed they were losing money or barely profitable and the NBA was keeping it alive for PR purposes and cause “it’s the right thing to do” I have no idea though, I just always thought that

Women's college b-ball is way more popular then the WNBA 3.6 million people will watch the women's NCAA championship compared to 440,000 that watch the WNBA finals.

The problem is all the girls go to the same school like UCONN so only a like 3-4 teams are good every year and they just dominate everybody. if the girls would spread out more and go to different colleges they would get more shine and then more people would be fans if their teams were good. Then they would be more likely to follow them into the WNBA to follow their careers.
