This thread been made before,you cant do a 1-16 unless you have a balanced schedule across the board and thats impossible with time zones...

IF your going to do a 1-16 seeding,you dont need conferences or divisions either.Itd be one 32 team division.

Intraconference schedule aren't even balanced. Conferences and divisions provide a template for scheduling, as everyone can't play everyone else the same number of games under the 82 game format. The conference set-up is a joke in 2017. The only thing stopping 1-16 is clinging to tradition, and probably lower level East teams bytching and being in major markets.

Do away with the current playoff structure and implement 1-16...Will the more talented upper echelon teams more than likely win their first round matchups? Yes but we will still be treated to high level basketball within the middle of the pack.

Make homecourt determined by who won the regular season matchup. If the team splits the series then go into ancillary statistics like margin of victory, fg % turnovers & fouls.

Eliminate Hack A Shaq by introducing a new sort of bonus. If one player is hacked more than five times in a quarter then from that point on every foul on that player will count as 2 fouls and the player that was fouled team will receive the ball back.

I got one. And it's really excellent.

The first 3 quarters of a game, a team can take no more than 5 three pt shots in a quarter. In the 4th qtr, u can shoot all you want.


Imagine it being the 1st qtr and you've already taken 5 threes. On the next 3 pt shot you make, the ref puts his arms up, symbolizing 3, but you argue your foot was on the line. If it was a 3, it's a turnover and a technical foul

You cant have a balanced schedule across time zones with arenas that have other dates on there calendars....It cant truly be balanced cuz most of the teams are in the east and the teams in the west do alot more travel...Thats kinda why there are eastern and western conferences.

Western teams having to travel more is hardly a reason to not do 1-16.

NBA has the ability to come close to true pool play, a little extra travel is no reason to stand in the way of that
