And he's crack for a lot of black people, the same way Ayn Rand is for a certain lot of whites, because both appeal to a warped sense of persecution while confirming their most basic, shallow notions of how the world is and how it should be, a world in which contradictions empower rather than hinder a person's character or message.

Wow.

:whew:

Unfortunately Walt is right here

His mom dying was the trigger that sent him nuts

Because she died via the ultimate act of vanity, paid for by the fruits of his labor, which would not be possible without her.

And he didn't know how to cope with that so he's been dealing with depression and anxiety ever since. Combine that with the drugs and the validity he probably receives from kicking it with the Kardashians...shyt he probably seeks that comfort in Kim because let's face it there's not much going on up upstairs there and she probably doesn't judge him. And ultimately that's what all men are looking for, someone who they can trust as much as their Mom, who realistically is the only woman you can ever trust because she carried your ass for 9 months while she could have been doing other shyt.
shyt is a shame :yeshrug:

The tragic death of Kanye's mother was definitely the emotional trigger, however, the single most influential moment in Kanye's life was his spontaneous public statement about George Bush. Looking back on Kanye's demeanor and expression, you could tell that he was at his least confident point in his adult life; he overcame it and by saying what he wanted to say, Kanye literally became a demagogue, as @Walt so brilliantly articulated.

So sad. So tragic. But so unsurprising.

As James Baldwin surmised - The American Dream comes at the expense of the American Negro.

I was with you up to the point where you spoke on Ayn Rand's name in a such disrespectful manner

"a world in which contradictions empower rather than hinder a person's character or message" - if you think that's the world she's describing in her works, then a) you've never read them or b) you read them and didn't understand a word

go back to the drawing board
