I honestly believe that if Mase never retired he would be bigger than Nas and Hov

Nah

Mase had the streets on fire, nikkas was dressing like him, talking like him. The girls wanted to fukk etc

Homie had the intangabiles. Like I said moreso than the pure rap ability.
Puffy's marketing of Mase had the streets on fire as was Black Rob and G Dep.

Mase was dressing like the streets/ D Boys, my breh..fans and kids started to dress like Mase...which I really cant fathom..cuz Puff styled his artists..

And talking like him as in a slooow aasss drawl..talking like? You missed me on that one..please elaborate.

The girls will fukk anybody with fame...i.e Biggie.

Homie had the intangibles, yet couldnt capitalize on them like his counterparts...

No sir!

Ma$e is talented but he's not on Nas or Jay's level.

Ma$e did have that "it factor" but he lacks the stern work ethic it takes to be one of the best.

Even after he came back to hip hop, he showed how lazy and unfocused he was on the music by constantly coming and going.

But even with a better work ethic, Ma$e is not on Nas' level of writing and rhyming or Jay's.

Are you sure you lived the era? The man was super talented but....
By his second album his momentum was already slowing down. Mase was hot cause BadBoy was hot. You can't just extrapolate using the high points

You can't get bigger than nas n jay. So how can mase get bigger? Even if you said their equal you'd still be wrong
Those two are once in a lifetime kinda talents.

And no zion is not the next lebron. Gotta respect the Greats
What's this shyt right here? Mase was MUCH BIGGER than Nas and Jay by 98. He was doing shyt with J Lo and Mariah Carey...did shyt with Mya, Brandy...no one heard of DMX until the Mase album..never heard of Cam until Mase brought him up. Get real.

Jay didnt matter to Can I Get A and the Hard Knock Life video.

Not at all.

What impact did Mase have on the industry?

Im using Puff's marketing as an example of why you think he was hot in the streets..

For the fact, if he had IT, his 2nd album wouldnt have gone wood and then he wants to retire and become a preacher.

Ok.

edit:I dont listen to Drake so posting that video doesnt help your argument..

Went like 4x plat before DMX, Ruff Ryders, Cash Money, Jay Z ever did. Definition of the It factor.
And his 2nd album went wood unlike the others you just mentioned..

Again, that like saying Hammer and Vannila Ice had the "it" factor..cuz they sold millions the first time out..

So you said all that to say he wasn't slowing down by his second album??????????

Double up was a multi platinum album. Fact is if Dmx did not have a drug problem mase would not have retired Jay-Z would not have the success he has now.

Dude had already fallen off by his second album.

That P. Diddy and the family/Hit Men run was slowing down.

Did any of these guys come and say "Mase's style influenced me"?

Which, most rappers give credence to who influenced them.

Keep thinking Mase was the archetype for rappers 2k and beyond, brehs..

Forget that Puffy styles his artists when it comes to image, brehs..

You can tell me by quoting major artists who said Mase's style influenced them. :manny:

Double Up went gold according to RIAA and peaked at #11 on the charts according to Billboard :dahell:

Jay-z on the other hand did like gold in his first week around the same time with a bootlegged album :dahell:

Kid used the term rewrite history :pachaha:
