I hope Prometheus ethers the comic book genre something serious

I could do a Hellraiser remake at this point in my life.

All the major horror remakes have been ass so far though. I got my hopes up for the Nightmare on Elm Street remake but that was terrible. Not as bad as the Friday the 13th and Halloween remakes but still terrible.

Actually, it did. Rated-R sci-fi movie doing $50M opening weekend and it's already made $100M overseas and the budget was only $120M?

There was no chance of that happening. I don't know if people were serious but this was never going to be in the realm of TDKR/Avengers. Those are mega blockbusters.

it lost again

considering the subject matter and the fact that it was rated R it did very good.Those numbers are pretty close too and consider the avengers have been out for longer so more people have reviewed it on those sites.

The movie is doing really good even though I didn't like it. Me personally I wasn't even talking about numbers-box office wise. I was refering to simply a better overall movie experience

I liked Prometheus but come on dawg... shyt was not better then The Avengers in any way, shape or form including theatre experience...

I loved the movie fukk what u heard its absolutely worth the watch...the pacing was great, it gets right into the action and fassbenders performance as david alone is enough to go see it...and of course the cinematography is ridiculous, but u already knew that....

and y compare this to a movie like the avengers ( a family movie basically ) when they're apples and oranges....any moviegoer who fukks with sci-fi genre and big budget movies that raise deeper questions should peep it

Outside of the visuals I didn't like Prometheus at all. And hell yeah I liked TDK and The Avengers myself included. These two are the best of the best of the comic book genre. I just wanted to see the science fiction/risk taking genre do well and make a comeback instead of big studios always relying on the sure things.. that don't always pan out. I was hoping it was the better overall movie experience, and it didn't pan out that way cause the story in Prometheus was crap imo. I knew it was going to do some numbers but not The Avengers type numbers, I never said that. But Pro is doing well which is good because maybe other films like it can get greenlighted into production and we can have more variety which is a win for everybody

I wanted Prometheus to be *EPIC*... but sadly...

I will however be there opening night for the Sequel...
