It was cool but IDK. New Lara Croft was turnt but she legit did ridiculously impossible shyt and her character/progression was borderline retarded IMO.

Game was fun tho. Exploring the Tombs and shyt>>>

Laura been doing ridiculous shyt since the og tomb raiders. I thought this gave a good explanation for that ridiculousness :manny:

the games only a 6.5/10 to me.

you beat it once and thats it. story sucked, characters sucked, puzzles sucked,it was super easy with no replay value. and the multiplayer was awful. im glad i waited for it to be free on ps plus.

Feel like the way they portrayed her in the cut-scenes didn't match the type of game she was actually in. It's actually similar to the issue I have with Nathan Drake in Uncharted(although his character is different in personality, so the issue isn't as magnified as with Lara to me). The way she is portrayed in cut-scenes she pretty much acts like she's helpless the whole way through...but then you play the game and murder an entire island full of organized and armed troops. By the end she's just batshyt. :mindblown:

The older Lara just seemed like "Well these guys are here...maybe i gotta kill them":manny:. New Lara is on some "Yo I got impaled omg what do I do?" *ziplines across island*

Both are great games that have expanded off of each other. The Story and characters of Uncharted destroy the Tomb Raider story. Tomb Raider wins on the semi-open world front and the gunplay is much better. I'm interested to see where the next installments take the genre. Not everything has to be a fanboy flame war. Both of these games are incredible in their own way. I was really hoping for a Uncharted/Tomb Raider cross over down the line.

Man. That's totally backwards to me. I thought the cutscene drake was much different than the one in gameplay. He's supposed to be a kinda care free adventure type with morals, but indiscriminately kills hundreds of people. They don't even attempt to give any type of narrative justification for it. It just is what it is, and another thing that bothered me is where the hell did all the enemies come from? I'm supposed to be this great adventurer using my unique skills to access treasure, but every single time the bad guys are standing right next to it. What door did they come in? What are my skills worth if hundreds of peons make it to the treasure before me?

With tomb raider at least they tried to give some story context as to why she turned into a killer and her reactions during the gameplay lend some humanity to all of the ridiculousness she was doing. In combat especially at the beginning of the game, you did feel a bit underpowered and helpless at times especially melee combat. She was a total badass by the end, but at least they tried to give some reasoning behind it. I.e.being caged, almost raped, and fighting for her life.

Older Laura has been through this before which is why her reaction is :manny: this was supposed to be the reason why old Laura was able to just scoff at a T-Rex

:russ: Why are all these troops guarding treasure anyways? Why don't they just gather it all and meet in one location since they're already there before I am?

Overall I felt the character they were presenting just gets contradicted by the gameplay, origin story or not. If it played more to the stealth as opposed to rewarding killing, I probably wouldn't have much of an issue with it.

And Drake's care-free nature is exactly the issue I have with his character. He just finished murdering a bunch of people and he just shrugs like it literally didn't just happen, cracking jokes and shyt. Both characters suffer from the same thing IMO, it's just what they go through and their personalities that change it.

But you loved uncharted :mjlol:
uncharted was a better game at everything. better story, better characters, better puzzles, better game play, better multi player. Uncharted multi player was actually popular. I spent more time playing uncharted 3s multiplayer beta than I did tomb raider in total.

Tomb raider was an okay uncharted game, and a shytty tomb raider game. Its called tomb raider and the tombs are optional. The tombs were a joke.
