That's a great thing to do if you don't want to serve because it then plants the seed in the rest of the jurors mind that the police aren't the most trustworthy people. It happened in my case and I'm really thankful for the lady that said it. You'd be surprised how many people will assume automatic guilt simply because the cops brought a case against you. The lady's exact words were, "I believe I can be a fair and impartial juror, but I honestly don't trust the police". She actually made it to the next selection round, but was ultimately cut. I ended up beating the case, after two years and a two week trial.

Saying what she said or actually serving are two of the best things to do for your community if you're ever summoned.
