I'm second guessing even starting this thread.

I'm not even trying to shyt on anyone (intentionally :mjpls:) and dudes are in here talking about "oh well my moms boyfriend (:troll:) has a laptop with 64 ram and a 20 petabyte SSD and 240 ghz processor etc that NASA uses to crunch numbers...and it has 30 day battery life :umad:" :aicmon:

Mannn get out of here

These dudes never want to talk about the Operating System though. Its always hardware with these dudes. :heh:

Theres more to a mac than whats under the hood :usure:

Breh, I'm a Windows user and I haven't had a virus (computer related :guilty:) since college (2003).
If I gave my brother a clean install of Windows, he'd have a virus before 11:00 tonight.

There is a user-related element to it, just fyi.
basically:mjlol:

2k is too damn much. I have that very laptop. But you out your fukkin mind if you think you can get a 1800p screen for 5-600. Opinion is now null and void
Also, i code with Xcode and use Garageband ..far more than just browsing the internet or youtube.
:ehh:

Aint nobody saying the shyt aint nice.

Just admit that most people who own Macs don't need that shyt and are overpaying by a lot.
That's the problem. The prententiousness of mac owners.

You got people out here yapping about how cool it is to own a Formula 1 car....but they aint Michael Schumacher.

You and your hyperboles
First it was Macs are 4X the price of a similar windows laptop when a simple google search would have showed you it's wrong :why:

MacBooks are maybe a couple hundred more spec for spec

A high resolution windows PC with a SSD will cost about ~1000

A MacBook retina your looking at $1400

It's a premium but it's not that much more considering the resale value of Macs

And now Mac users are pretentious but your the one who's comparing it to owning a F1 car :why:

You might be right on the pretentious part. But your wrong on the pricing. Name another metal bodied laptop with a quad core i7 and a 1800p screen for less than 1500?

Kneegrow please

I probably haven't scanned my Mac in like 3 months for viruses.

I was scanning my PC... No matter who made it, like 3 times a week.

Most viruses are executables. Creating viruses for macs are like a lot of work for a lol reward to them nikkas

So let me get this straight. You know you don't have malicious software on your macbook because you haven't scanned it? How do you think viruses work? Once its installed it sends you an email that says FYI, you have a virus :pachaha:

It's $2,000 for a 15 inch, breh.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I could set up a comparable laptop for 5-600-ish dollars.

And build quality? Dude, that's a great point when talking about homes and clothes...but realistically when's the last time a laptop had to be serviced because of keypad issues and shyt? I mean how badly are some of you treating your laptops that build quality ever even becomes an issue?

Battery? Eh. I suppose. I got nothing here.

Software integration? Well, what are you doing? Can we be honest and admit that 95% of macbook users only use the shyt for internet browsing and youtube videos? Maybe the occasional photoshop/lightroom edit? I mean the pretentiousness that comes out of some Macbook users...as if they're editing shyt for Vogue magazine or Lucasfilm...please....

I'm really not trying to shyt on macbooks but I just don't see the value in it. Even bumping the cost comparison up....say to $1,000...you could easily build a windows laptop that equals or beats a macbook on sheer power and would have similar software capabilities.

Okay so post this magical $500-600 windows PC that is even close to these specs :stopitslime:
  • 2.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz
  • 8GB 1600MHz memory
  • 256GB PCIe-based flash storage1
  • Intel Iris Pro Graphics
Retina Display
Metallic Build
