Another good thing with ebay is when a member purchases a product from you ebay gives you their email address. So you can simply add their email to your mailing list and send out emails periodically promoting your website and your products...and your part about brand name phones is the truth. Starting off I would stay away from brand name goods altogether. You require higher capital to buy in bulk when youre looking at 10% profit margins in general. When I first got started I would buy generic cell phone accessories from chinese suppliers and resell them at 100% profit margins on ebay. It was only about $3 or $4 profit, but I was able to make it up by doing larger volume per day.

Are you still doing this? I thought about getting into cell phone accessories with some chinese suppliers

That market is so oversaturated now that you got the chinese suppliers themselves on eBay getting in on the action.

So what's the next move? It's amazing to me how the internets have made it so you can just put up a virtual storefront and feast anytime someone comes across it.

Anyway you guys can do a how-to guide to help out newbies.

I'm doing a similar thing. How easy was it for you to get your goods? I got some stuff I can potentially make a good profit from but I need to get my resellers license. And how much monthly profit do you estimate you'll have ?

Good luck. I'll try to pass spread your links.

Traffic takes effort. That's a given. Just like with any storefront.

But information that can be shared include what sells well, where to go to get the best prices, what 3rd party b2b systems should be used, etc.

I'm not handling goods, my partner is, he got everything ready, all we need now is the traffic and sales, its hard to get traffic, ive been spamming links across the net all day...

I havent sold accessories in years personally. Once I saved up enough dough I moved on with other online ventures. If you still want to get into the business then the first thing you need to do is sign up with terapeak.com. Its basically an ebay research tool that allows you to see which products are selling well, how much volume is being sold, and at what price its being sold for. Pretty much every auction thats listed on ebay outside of the adult categories is crawled and indexed into their database.

For example...If I wanted to sell cell phone accessories, I would type in either iphone case, iphone 4 case, iphone 5 case, defender case, or droid case into the search box. It would spit back results showing every auction that had one of those phrases in its auction title. I could then refine the search more and only look at auctions that sold between $5 and $15. From there I could get an idea as to whats being sold successfully in the marketplace but could take it even further. What I use to do is look at the listings and see which one of my competitors were selling a specific item. I would take that sellers username and paste it into terapeaks competitor research tool. It would spit back results showing every single auction that seller listed, how much volume theyre doing, and how much revenue theyve grossed total within a specific time frame. Id simply sort those results showing which specific products he had the most success with and then look for wholesalers who had those specific products in stock.

Some of the sites I used to find wholesalers were dhgate.com, alibaba.com, and aliexpress.com. Then I had movie and game distributors I bought from like sdcd.com, and ingramentertainment.com. Some other accessories you can research off the top of my head are iphone screen protectors, iphone or ipod earbuds, macbook or kindle leather cases, or iphone rechargeable cases and batteries. They dont have to be iphones. Just an example.

Man some people have hit licks w/o even setting up their own anything. Dropshipping. Find a RELIABLE supplier and you can :eat:. Thats what I was doing for the LG Marquee. He told me all I needed to send him was $75 and he'd ship the phone and everything. I just put up listings on eBay/amazon for like $120. When it sold take $75 out of that 120 send it to dude and he'd handle the rest. Nowadays it's much harder to find a reliable supplier though. I was droppshipping some software and that ended badly.

But yea the first steps is finding a reliable supplier, it's alot of scammers out there.

Can we use this thread for tips, tricks, advice, etc. If nothing else, a couple of us can put together some test sites and see if any of the above mentioned strategies work.
