I remember TI had a good 06 since he was the only one to go play until Jay dropped KC. But TI was never considered a superstar rapper like 50. Y’all really downplaying 50s discog.

Urban Legend NEVER received this much love as this thread suggest.

50 is/was an a$$hole
50 is from NY

This does not bode well in conversations like this. Could you imagine how these nikkaz would lose their minds over a southern equivalent who moved the units he did and had a moment like that?

We’d nevet hear the end of it

I don't understand why dudes try and argue like Verzuz is an exact science when it's down to opinions

Someone is trying to say 'My Love' is a better song than '21 Questions'
That's your opinion my dude

Unless it's Lil B vs Nas..... most of these battles can be argued either way

TI, 50 Cent, DMX, Jeezy, Nelly, Ja Rule, Ludacris....... these artists have deep enough catalogues that they can all have arguments made for and against them, its just fukking entertainment, there is no definitive answer

I’m with Betha, Cliff gotta defeat Rozay to stand a chance

Mase is half right and half wrong because neither Tip nor Fif could beat Ross in a Versuz. In "hits", sure, if it was strictly about commercial popularity. Talent as an artist and quality of work, Ross shyts on both of them combined, he playing in a different space than either one of them...

A ton of 50's legacy is tied to the mixtape run that led up to Get Rich. I do personally recognize him as one of the original mixtape gods. So he has Tip there. He has Tip in peak run. He has Tip in popularity. I see the argument for 50, I'm not downplaying him...

I'm about to refamilarize myself with his work and come back later. My long held belief is I think Fif's story and explosion in popularity and The Machine are why we call Get Rich a classic, without the unbelievable level of press he was getting I'm not sure we'd have thought of it the same, but I'm not tripping when people call it a classic. But I've always said that was his only arguable classic...

I remember Massacre being good. I though Curtis was weak, and to be honest I dont think I ever listened to Before I Self Destruct. But I got Get Rich on now, I'm gonna replay his 00s resume and come back here later...

Musically Tip was more relevant in the 10s...

Overall I'll keep saying to both sides, both these nikkas in the same tier on All-Time boards, all this talk about one being way ahead of the other is misplaced. For they primary era, the 00s, both are hella relevant and neither are legit GOATs, but we can say the both in that Top 5 range of they era. This downplaying of TI as midtier in the 00s is dishonest, nikkas just gotta admit they wasnt fans and leave it at that. He was easily one of the five biggest names in the game for about a half-decade in the mid-00s, that's not "midtier nikka" shyt...

Scarface >>>>>>>

Its debatable, and I'm a Face fan too. But the days of Face being the assumed South GOAT with no competition have been over for a long time now, probably going on a decade now. Ross definitely has the work to go toe-to-toe with Scarface...

To be fair, the same can be said of Fif. I never felt, and I never heard, anybody ever say "damn go listen to Fif's verse on ____ song". Neither are that kind of artist but by virtue of Tip being a better lyricist he has had more memorable features, even if they not, stop me in my tracks it's so hot, good...

I've run thru Get Rich and The Massacre, Massacre really wasnt that good. Get Rich is a classic, and I'll say stronger than anything Tip dropped, which underscores 50's peak run that we know was higher. Get Rich was dope, couple of em I forgot about like Life On The Line, I don't agree with those who say it didn't age well. Still sounds fire...

Running thru Curtis now, but really Tip vs 50 boils down to whether you think Fif's peak, his mixtape run, his lyricism and artistry is greater than Tip's lyricism, artistry, peak, and the fact that cumulatively Tip was more relevant and more consistent for a longer period of time...

50 in his prime rarely did features outside of Shady & Gunit

but his work it & Magic stick verses were crazy and I guess that Big song a feature was crazy also. I really like his X feature too but that song mid

I know he have more but I can’t think of any of them
