I was just watching Bring It On with my daughters and when the movie went off, I played them a couple Blaque joints, as I'm always trying to show them positive examples of black kids making R&B music that wasn't overtly sexual, drug related, etc.
(can't believe this joint is damn near 20 years old)
While we're watching a couple vids on youtube, my wife walks in and says something about Live Nation doing $20 concert tickets and how it's time to start thinking about taking them to their first concert.
We sat there and started thinking about which current group's show we could take them to and she threw out Maroon 5.
I immediately hit the
thinking to myself, "I don't want their first show being some old ass cacs making black music"
(Even though "Wait" is my shyt)
She's still going down the list "Imagine Dragons?"
Me: "Hell nah, what about .........
..............
..............
There aren't any black R&B groups anymore is it?"
Her: "Nope."
Then we both sat there depressed as fukk.
