I just realized that there are no black R&B groups anymore.

I was just watching Bring It On with my daughters and when the movie went off, I played them a couple Blaque joints, as I'm always trying to show them positive examples of black kids making R&B music that wasn't overtly sexual, drug related, etc.

(can't believe this joint is damn near 20 years old) :flabbynsick:

While we're watching a couple vids on youtube, my wife walks in and says something about Live Nation doing $20 concert tickets and how it's time to start thinking about taking them to their first concert.

We sat there and started thinking about which current group's show we could take them to and she threw out Maroon 5.

I immediately hit the :mjpls: thinking to myself, "I don't want their first show being some old ass cacs making black music"

(Even though "Wait" is my shyt)

She's still going down the list "Imagine Dragons?"

Me: "Hell nah, what about ......... :jbhmm: .............. :dwillhuh: ..............:francis:

There aren't any black R&B groups anymore is it?"

Her: "Nope."

Then we both sat there depressed as fukk. :mjcry:

I know the reason for female groups... it's the money these companies don't want to invest in from marketing, clothing, hair, just to see only 300,000 in sales

in 2018 you have to market a female group in a sexual, nasty, ratchet way on some porno shyt.. opposite of the en vogues and Swv's with class

no men groups cause nikkas are all about self and nikkas not looking to split say a million dollars or even if they make that cause of 360 deals

This has nothing to do with black folk. Theres not any white groups anymore for real

It just doesn't work in the mainstream anymore

I just posted two examples of white groups in the OP.
Maroon 5? They're old as shyt and they are a rock band.

Maroon 5 & Imagine Dragons are Rock bands. The white equivalent of a black male R&B group is usually a Boy Band. You should've used One Direction, The Wanted, & maybe Fifth Harmony as your examples instead.

That's a fact, but they do have multiple members so that negates the groups don't work due to money issues talk.

If that's the case, the labels would make the two lead singers solo artists.

And neither one of those groups exist anymore
Not only that, none of these groups had close to the success as Backstreet Boys, Nsync, or News Kids on the Block. Just like whatever black R&B groups exist now don't have close to the same success as the top Black R&B groups from the late 80s-mid 2000's.
