i do not usually defend jay,but
it has to be hard to be a successful rapper (i know the money,women,etc...rappers have not much to complain about)
but once you're successful, it seems inevitable that you'll loose a portion of your fans and be labelled a 'sell-out'.
you are in limbo
being successful means that you hang with 'different' kinds of people and yet you have to keep those street ties or you loose day 1 fans

I've been listening to Jay-Z heavy since I was 18, and I'm 31 now...
I identified with him as a brother...

And now to see these 2 drastically different sides and catering to 2 audiences it's kinda disturbing...

What I mean is if those people probably NEVER have heard ETHER in their life...
And if they were to hear it today they'd wonder who the hell it was about....

Jay stans are so simple

The point is Jay talks the talk when its convenient but he never walks the walk. Dont cry about white people subjugating you when you are putting on minstrel shows for them for free!!!! and calling it "performance art". Dont talk that pro black shyt when you are throwing money behind projects that gentrify the very black neighborhoods you came from and are on bad terms with pretty much every nikka you came up with. Theres nothing wrong with getting along with or working with white people, everyone is different. But there is something wrong with being a liar and a hypocrite :yeshrug:
