i do not usually defend jay,but
it has to be hard to be a successful rapper (i know the money,women,etc...rappers have not much to complain about)
but once you're successful, it seems inevitable that you'll loose a portion of your fans and be labelled a 'sell-out'.
you are in limbo
being successful means that you hang with 'different' kinds of people and yet you have to keep those street ties or you loose day 1 fans

Lol black people can be an artist or like art too lol. This thread is hilarious lmao. My opinion is I don't care about if Jay likes art or not, why should I? Lol. Ain't gonna break my heart he likes art lol, the way he brags about it in the music though ain't appealing to me though, cause it FEELS false, I doubt many art lovers brag about buying art like that, so it feels distasteful and insincere and just another way to brag AGAIN about how rich he is, even in one of the songs he makes it sound insincere. Also just my personal preference I'm not super into art to the extent where it interests me, so it's boring. Even if someone did that about cars or other material shyt it wouldn't interest me really. I liked the concept potential for Picasso Baby but didn't like the execution, he could have made that one song and that one song only where he named dropped quite a few artists, but could have done it in a better way. However he can talk about whatever he wants, but that don't mean we got to enjoy it either, whether it's real or not. But him liking art is not the problem, and nor should it be (got interrupted and lost train of thought so will leave it there).
