and i'm not obsessed with kendrick. yes, the verse and it's explosion has made me question alot of things in the game, but you wouldn't understand if you weren't in my position. the night the song dropped i was at an event with peter rosenberg, juan epstein and i was chilling with an mc from the west shawn chrystopher and his team. i was hanging out with them, and we all were huddled around the same macbook after the show to listen to the verse. there were also bloggers there from a very popular site as well and after the song dropped we proceeded to have an in depth discussion on the verse and the reaction, among other things we started to realize seemed very contrived in the game. it didn't start with kendrick, but it was the catalyst for another level of thoughts i hadn't previously given much attention to. keep in mind, i was with people from LA where the previous night before the Control verse, we'd discussed why Kendrick is so important to the west coast. so this isn't hate, i can understand what an mc means for a certain group of people without being an active fan myself. everything i've said on the coli i've stated in my real life in front of established hip hop heads and held my position with respect. this isn't a J Cole/Napoleon episode.
