@Roberto Dinero nothing wrong with Lacoste but you and i both know its overpriced. You might wanna check out some lesser known, great cheaper brands. Especially being in the UK (right) a brand like Farah would set you up properly :banderas:

Well, I've always been a Lacoste fan that's I why I wanted a Lacoste sweater. I got a tracksuit and a few polos but that's it for my collection at the moment. But I will check for the brand u mentioned.

as someone who spends stupid horrific amounts on clothes I can honestly tell you that the cost can never be justified whether its Levis or Versace, there is always a cheaper option...... anything with prominent logos unless its sports/athletic wear is wack......

for me I just buy what I like......If you like it and you can afford it fukk what anyone thinks just buy it.....you can't really justify paying over the odds for any article of clothing

Yeah, I buy what I like too. When it comes to designer brands, the ones I rock with the most are Lacoste, Timberland, Polo and Fred Perry.

I mean, obviously they are high quality material but part of it is for the logo, for most people. Its not just the logo but its part of the product.

that logo is there to sell a dream breh, top of the line clothing tends to avoid conspicous branding while the cheaper alternatives that are both lower in quality and pricing, boldly displays its logos and thus easier to sell because they know most people want to be associated with a brand and be associated vicariously for what its suppose to represent; that in addition to you being used as free advertisement for that company. :manny:

Actually logos are supposed to be used to brand craftsmanship just like a signature on a painting. That's actually something that's been around for thousands of years. It's what distinguishes one brand from another, also symbolic of quality. It's people now that use it as a status symbol.

the logo in itself isnt what this is about, the post was more in reference of the branding being overtly conspicuous to sell to a certain demographic. Polo is the king at this, they fill the department stores with their cheap lower end quality clothing with a big ass logo attached and people buy it because that logo is suppose to mean something, then when you notice their higher ended more lavishley priced products youll find that little pony is suspiciously absent or obscurely hidden

I'm not talking about rocking a big ass logo for it to look good. Just a little horse or alligator or whatever is cool. For example the Timberland sweater I copped, you can barely see the logo. For that, I might as well cop a cheaper sweater with no logo on it at all.

Yeah I can't argue that at all, sadly that's what the people want now. I will say though that I literally have a couple of polo shirts that were my dad's and they still look brand new, can't say that the quality is the same now honestly because I don't have any more than 3 or 4 years old but they're holding up pretty good too. Nautica is a brand I wear on occasion and I gotta admit the quality is ass.
