I'm not talking about WHO they're promoting, I'm talking about HOW they're promoting it.

It's not about what positions they take, it's the fact that they're all sensationalist crap that cares more about rating than news. Sure, you can say that MSNBC has more of the "right positions" than Fox News, but that doesn't make it good news. It still is superficial, sensationalist, image-driven, and cares more about ratings than the complexities of truth.

It's like rooting for the good pro wrestlers over the bad pro wrestlers. No matter what your argument is...it's still pro wrestling.

Oh damn, that is the PERFECT example.

They aren't subject to the same cable news profit model so they aren't nearly as bad, but they aren't always great either.

To be honest, if you absolutely have to watch television to get your news, you're probably best off with the BBC and Al Jazeera.

But please, use your head and read a variety of print and online papers instead. You're never going to have the time for meaningful or in-depth unless you're getting into print journalism.
