When Trump won a second term
Shiiiiit
When Trump first started gaining traction in 2015 I knew things were going sideways.
I was in a conservative area in OH and I was "friends" with a lot of Repubs at work and in my complex. For over a decade I never looked at them side eyed. This was mostly thru the glorious Obama administration.
I was fooled into thinking that racism was dwindling.
After Trump came down the escalator, I was hearing what they thought about the inflammatory shyt he was saying. Largely they were like "that's fine". Not really gung ho. But I saw Trump signs as far as the eye could see in almost every yard. I drove past Trump billboards in rural areas.
I felt it coming. Although, I thought Trump would lose and his people would go ape shyt. I had basically skipped town by then and came back to my childhood hood. When that mf won the election I was ready to fall to pieces. I could have went back to OH and stuck it out but I was like "fukc that. I ain't going back".
I did have to clean up a few things SOHH I went back for a couple days. I think the day I flew back was the day after the election. The vibe was WEIRD. All the Trump supporters were quiet, but super smug. All the anti Trump people were quiet but very withdrawn.
My peops back home thought I had put too much on it. After all, I left a decent job and was unemployed. I found a okay gig here and waited.
Now look at us. We have a real live supervillain running the world, but he's not smart. And shyt is prolly gonna slide further downhill.
