Look at the past year, Tesla still up 21 percent while the SPY is down 9 percent. Most of the loss on Tesla has been from the stock being too overvalued in the first place.

The S&P 500 (the go to public equities index) lost 11.2% since April 14th it was announced of a potential acquisition of Twitter by Musk and Tesla has lost 23.6% during the same time period up until today at market close.
