I always wanted to be a DJ from a young age, I ended up getting my turntables when I was 18. I wish I woulda gotten them earlier tho, like 13 or so when I 1st started showing interest in that matter.
I practised and got into it for about a year and I was doing pretty good. After a year I had enough confidence to do parties and I was going to open decks sessions on Sundays. People told me they liked the music I was playing and got some compliments.
The 1st time I ever played in front of a big group I got booed off tho

and some other guy took over. After about 30 mins they let me get back on the decks and I did a lot better that time so it wasn't so bad.
Then when I was 19 I had some problems and had to give it up. I started again a couple of years later at 22 but I just didn't have the same drive and passion for it anymore, so I ended up giving it up.
I still got my turntables at home but I don't even have the space to set them up so they just sit in the closet floor. I don't do it anymore but sometimes I think about it. Another thing is, now everyone uses CD turntables and they are expensive as f*ck and harder to learn to use than vinyl so I don't see myself going back to it in these new days.
I'm also interested in production and I know a little about it. I might start doing it as a hobby in the future and try to get into it but I dunno at this point. Also, if u wanna be a producer, u need to have some kind of musical knowledge, and I mean
real musical knowledge, like the type of person that plays instruments has but I don't have that at the moment. I guess I could always learn
If u wanna go into production, it would be good for you if u know an instrument. Personally I would go with a keyboard since synths and stuff like that is the most used in rap music production.
