Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
I dj's this mormon wedding once (it was my first gig).

Wasn't too familiar with the Dj Hero program i had in my laptop...

Shiit, on top of not being prepared enough, i was nervous as fukk.

So instead of blending music, i just hit the fader gradually over the next track.

A couple teenage kids called me "DJ CROSSFADE" on my way out.

I always wanted to be a DJ from a young age, I ended up getting my turntables when I was 18. I wish I woulda gotten them earlier tho, like 13 or so when I 1st started showing interest in that matter.

I practised and got into it for about a year and I was doing pretty good. After a year I had enough confidence to do parties and I was going to open decks sessions on Sundays. People told me they liked the music I was playing and got some compliments.

The 1st time I ever played in front of a big group I got booed off tho  and some other guy took over. After about 30 mins they let me get back on the decks and I did a lot better that time so it wasn't so bad.

Then when I was 19 I had some problems and had to give it up. I started again a couple of years later at 22 but I just didn't have the same drive and passion for it anymore, so I ended up giving it up.

I still got my turntables at home but I don't even have the space to set them up so they just sit in the closet floor. I don't do it anymore but sometimes I think about it. Another thing is, now everyone uses CD turntables and they are expensive as f*ck and harder to learn to use than vinyl so I don't see myself going back to it in these new days.

I'm also interested in production and I know a little about it. I might start doing it as a hobby in the future and try to get into it but I dunno at this point. Also, if u wanna be a producer, u need to have some kind of musical knowledge, and I mean real musical knowledge, like the type of person that plays instruments has but I don't have that at the moment. I guess I could always learn :manny:

If u wanna go into production, it would be good for you if u know an instrument. Personally I would go with a keyboard since synths and stuff like that is the most used in rap music production.

The DJ game is easy to break into nowadays b. I had a friend in college who was making a extra 10k a year off DJ gigs his first year into it. You jus gotta plan ish out, the DJ game is fun as fukk.

My advice would be to ultilze social medi a to the maxx to step up ya status. If you are a overall enjoyable and person. People will be fighting each other to book you.

Word. I remember doing a couple if Indian and Ethiopian weddings :whew:. Them peoples know how to party. Its about social status nowadays rather than talent imo.

Your lack of confidence is holding you back waaayyy more than your age. 23 is not old you just don't believe in yourself.

a rapper.

I still think about what I could have did if I was in the rap game, ohh well, back to this life that they call reality.

Bruh, Go download "Audacity"

Get you a mic

Download some instrumentals

And press record.

Its really that simple...

No if you want to be famous and rap for a living thats a whole nother subject.

But if you want to record to see how you or to see if you got what it take go this route.

I did the same thing with my potnas a few years back it was one of the dopest things I ever done. After a while we were basically doing for ourselves and people in our circle. I still ride around listening to shyt we made today

Its not the greatest quality but the only thing we had to pay for is a Mic and blank CDs to burn it on.

C'mon now. U've had number 1s in the charts and u don't remember? As a recording artist, I'm pretty sure that's hard to forget. If u don't wanna tell us that's fine, I'm just curious.

What type of music were u making? Hip Hop? Dancehall? Or what?

I can't even remember the type of music I did! :krs:
