Why would you blame the GM for the owner's cheapness?

They got to the finals as kids then the owner decided not to pay Harden
Yeah blame Clayton Bennett. Dude moved away from Seattle for no reason besides wanting to be in Oklahoma City and made no effort in good faith to stay in Seattle which violates the terms of his purchase of the team in the first place, turned a profit of I think close to $50 million in 2010-11 and 2011-12 put together, and then wants to cry poverty and being in a tiny market for why they can’t pay everyone after making the finals. Bad mojo hangs over the franchise over those two things even more than the based god curse did. Pretty sure when ESPN ran the poll of who are you rooting for in the 2012 finals the only 2 states rooting for the heat were Florida and Washington :lolbron:. The basketball gods don’t take kindly to shytting on a city like that and then getting cheap with talent that special.

Blame the owner not Presti...

Does anyone have a better eye for basketball talent than him?

Another one of Pop's disciples...what could have been if he had stayed in Swag Antonio...
He found all three in the top5 of the lottery. Come on y’all overrated him with the eye for talent. He took what was in front of him. It would all be different if Portland takes Durant instead of Oden

Harden was going to leave regardless why is this not understood?
Not necessarily at all. He had a year left on his deal and they gave him a low ball offer. Told him he’s got one hour to decide if he wants it and said no. Next thing he’s told is that he’s been traded.

Presti also paid Ibaka and then had to trade him.

Paid Perkins when the league was turning into a perimeter offense and post up bigs were becoming useless ( and Perkins was never that good anyway).

The trade for Kevin Martin, who he tried to say would replace Hardens production. He also ended up having to boot Jeremy Lamb within 2 years.

Presti is ok but he gets overrated. I don't care how cheap the owner is - it's your job to convince him of what you have and the cost of doing this deal. Plenty of people had Harden pegged as an all time talent based off his years in OKC. And we dididi have access to all the info I'd assume that front office did. Presti made one of the worst trades in league history.
