Why do you all give so much of a fukk about someone else does with their hair/scalp? It's not them being insecure. It's you looking at them and trying to find something wrong their appearance.

LIke, what man actually sits around thinks about a woman's scalp/hair and then goes as far as to start trying to preach about it from some moral high ground? :ld:

If it looks good, then my nikka, like it and keep it moving. Chances are if she looks bad with weave on her head, she'll look bad natural too.

So at what point do we call out Elle Driver for being ****?

I mean, it's pretty obvious this point that there's no way that's a female.
I was wondering when someone would noticed. Dude runnin' around actin' like a girl still. :snoop:

Not tru tho Ma. Read thru this thread and you will see the amount of black dudes that are in support of females rockin their shyt natural.

If every black man in America stood up and said that they are against weave, there will STILL be black woman that will fight to the death to wear weave. :mindblown:

Weaves/Wigs will always be easier than dealing with your natural hair. It's like a pair of slip on shoes. Tie ups look nicer but those loafers still get the job done.

What type of nikka complains about the fact that black men are advocating black women wearing their natural hair? :beli:

Well why don't BW wear wigs that match their natural hair. Do u agree that the constant financial support and wearing of weaves and wigs by BW send a bad message in the long run?

We are basically sayin that we are ashamed of hair and that we hate it. I just wished that more BW would teach lil girls that their hair is beautiful as it is

I'm not complaining. It seems like less "advocating" and a lot more sittin' on the sidelines, watching people, and making judgments.

Why do you care so much? I could see if there weren't a lot of chicks walking around natural, but there are (especially if you are middle class and not broke) so I don't get the uproar from all the Coli ballers.

Y'all nikkas in here tryna act like y'all salon stylists or some shyt. Let these chicks rock and worry about your own if you got a seed. :yeshrugs:
what man sits at a bar full of women and studies the men instead? :mjpls:
I don't know. Maybe the same kind that can't afford a washing machine in their own house. :ooh:

Or maybe the kind that watches men in spandex as a form of entertainment? :wow:

It's not even a fair comparison. Except braids and locs, men don't have to do shyt with their hair. Natural hair is a lot of work and the average woman doesn't have time for that level of maintenance.

:ld:I was relaxed for most of my life, then went natural for about 3 years only to relax again last year. I'm not ashamed of my hair, I just find relaxed hair more convenient especially if you work out often. I got tired of braiding my hair every night for a braid out just because my hair shrank to 2 inches after sweating at the gym. I had no problems at work with my fro either.

I love wearing weaves to give my hair a break. I'm wearing one in my avi. :umad:

more money
Majority......idk about that :whoa:

But it shows that we (men and women) have been cultural conditioned to view long straight hair as something to be desired.

If it's been beat into our brains for centuries that something is acceptable/unacceptable, you can't just expect one day everyone to wake up one day thinking the contrary. Like I said later, the natural/healthy movement is gaining momentum amongst educated women. All the examples you all show of cheap raggety weave and chewed up edges are more than likely pictures of uneducated women with low socioeconomic status anyway.

I feel you, but alot of these so called aware educated sisters will bring up every excuse under the sun to justify weave wearing, thats what I dont like. Plus a weave is a weave to me, I dont care if its tacky or not because alot of the time it symbolises the same thing.

I just wish most of yall wore natural styles because theyre beautiful in their own way and indicate African black pride, thats really all there is to it for me, thats why whether im here or with yungins in my family I advocate it.

You can say until you are blue in the how beautiful your daughter is, but if every time she goes outside society tells her otherwise then it's still a problem.

It takes a village breh

remember this... news anchor fired for natural hair look
rhonda2.jpg

viewers were complaining :beli:

the black lady that does the news is a very nice lady.the only thing is she needs to wear a wig or grow some more hair. im not sure if she is a cancer patient. but still its not something myself that i think looks good on tv. what about letting someone a male have waist long hair do the news.what about that (cq).”

That same day Lee responded:

“Hello Emmitt–I am the ‘black lady’ to which you are referring. I’m sorry you don’t like my ethnic hair. And no I don’t have cancer. I’m a non-smoking, 5’3, 121 lbs, 25 mile a week running, 37.5 year old woman, and I’m in perfectly healthy physical condition.I am very proud of my African-American ancestry which includes my hair. For your edification: traditionally our hair doesn’t grow downward. It grows upward. Many Black women use strong straightening agents in order to achieve a more European grade of hair and that is their choice. However in my case I don’t find it necessary. I’m very proud of who I am and the standard of beauty I display. Women come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities, and levels of beauty. Showing little girls that being comfortable in the skin and HAIR God gave me is my contribution to society. Little girls (and boys for that matter) need to see that what you look like isn’t a reason to not achieve their goals.“Conforming to one standard isn’t what being American is about and I hope you can embrace that.“Thank you for your comment and have a great weekend and thank for watching.

her reply :salute:

I hope to god that wasn't a black man who wrote that dumbass shyt

Since when is it fakkitry to care about the conditioning of our women? I dont go talking about this sht with my nikkas either but I respect sotmayor for caring at least.

If hair is a major part of yall identity and the majority of black women wear fake hear, whats that say about yall.
