Notice how out of the 4 members, there's one in particular that's 'retired'.
And Crook said that he's leaving cause the group don't wanna rap, even though Joell and Royce are still pursuing their solo careers hard.

It makes me think Budden is one of the reasons why there's tension between them cause he being drama queen as usual by being the only one that don't wanna rap still.

yeah or nah?

You didn't listen to the last podcast did you? Joe hints that the album is stuck in label hell on Shady. They probably sunk too much money into the album and have no way of recouping that money outside of touring for a year because they definitely won't move the needle with sales. IIRC the album had Just Blaze, IllMind, ARAB and a few others on the production so that alone shoots the budget up. Joe says if the group gets off of Shady it might be a go, but until then :yeshrug:

They want to rap

Some members just dont want to rap for Shady (Joe obviously but probably Joell too), after their first album was fukked up with Shady and their next was shelved (Glass House).

They still owe Shady probably like 2 albums (Im guessing) so its at a stalemate.

The Joe Camp ("Shady is a terrible place for us, lets get some Almagom/Koch shyt off and we can drop multiple times a year) vs "Ties with Shady" Camp ("Shady is the best place for us, where we will have the most resources even if we only drop once in a blue moon")

I can see how someone like Royce would be firmly planted in the middle and Crooked would be looking for a stable label situation (given his past of being on every damn label)

This is the feeling I got from Joe's sorta explanation on yesterday's pod.

Edit: Also what @Romell said

Shady has yet to release the Slaughterhouse music that they have.

What would be so exciting about putting your fate in the hands of a people who you don't believe are as knowledgeable as you are? What success has Shady had that would merit Joe Budden going back and recording music as part of Slaughterhouse? He's not indoctrinated in that slave to the label mentality a lot of rappers have.

Don't get at Joe Budden, everyone should get at Shady Records and tell them to release Slaughterhouse's album, or release Slaughterhouse from that contract.
