You realize that all that is being done is paying you back money you overpaid to the government without interest payments? You know you can just adjust your withholdings to receive that same money over your paychecks?

Yeah. I think the same thing every year this time. I adjust my withholding all the time to get very little back. When adjusting your withholding went online it’s was great. Stopped having to go into the HR office for it

gotta love the threads from people late to the knowledge acting like they kickin knowledge :ahh:

people love the idea of getting something back. Its really stupid how people think. The like the feeling of the government paying them something lol
behavioral and pysch differences in getting an extra 300 month vs. getting a one time $3600 check. $300 is so small people won't use it "correctly", getting $3600 back is like someone else said, a forced savings...whether they park it in savings, pay off a bill, ect, getting a lump sum > small incremental pay throughout the year that's easy to whittle away on bullshyt

I'm fine with getting a tax refund, I prefer it that way for personal reasons. I know yall talking that holier than thou shyt about giving interest free loan but you guys are 100% right, I can't argue against the facts of that. But to be honest, I would prob spend that extra cash on some frivilous shyt. that extra money amounted to an extra ~30 per pay period/$60 dollars a month for me. Having that extra $800 throughout the year wouldn't net me much in most investment vehicles if not spent out right. I'm coo with my lump sum refund :yeshrug:.

if youre single with no kids, go to HR and change your withholding from 0 to 1. bigger checks and your refund will be about 500 bucks (or whatever the fukk), but thats definitely the way to go
