by the time somebody sees you it's too late to pull over on a highway...

To my step dad and husband's defense they TRIED to teach me. Everything I learned went out the window when emergency set in.
I live in Georgia!!!! I was surprised too because I thought southerners were supposed to be more helpful and friendly!
I guess that's only true later in the day after they've had their grits and coffee.

First, you lost for thinking anyone has an obligation to help you. That being said, too many random variables. Also, 30 degree weather and during the morning commute, I'm not sure the average person is up to help a random stranger pro bono.![]()
how you not know how to change a tire??![]()
LMAO @ grits and coffee
u must be in the ATLANTA METROPOLITAN AREA....
cause most parts of Georgia. ..even the rednecks will stop and assist a woman regardless of her color
I've seen it!
guess it's a bible belt thing...
but unfortunately. ..
ATL is NOT the BIBLE BELT...
it's the GUCCI BELT with Sparkles on it of the SOUTH![]()
Gucci belt with sparkles!!!Sitting on the hood of my car on the side of the highway at 7:30 am in 30 degree weather.
I work about 30 minutes from where I live and during my commute this morning my tire blew. I pulled over and put on my flashers hoping someone (preferably someone who knew how to put on a spare) pulled over to help....30 minutes later... No one.
So then I thought, "Hey...maybe they can't see me" so I proceeded to put on my coat and get out and sit on my car.... No one stopped.
I counted 4 different police cars that passed by and even they didn't stop. It sucks because my husband is the type that if he sees a car stranded he stops to help because he says that if it were me he'd hope that someone would help......
People suck!![]()

You didn't say but it certainly comes off that way.Never said anyone was "obligated" to help. Just thought it was human decency. If it were their mom, sister, wife...would they feel the same way?
Human decency
I bet you thought you had positive karma accumulated from those times your husband helped others too, don't you? Any female relative in my family would just have to make one call and someone would be there as soon as possible, whether that be a male associated with the family or someone who works for AAA.I live in Georgia!!!! I was surprised too because I thought southerners were supposed to be more helpful and friendly!
I guess that's only true later in the day after they've had their grits and coffee.
They probably thought it was a setup. Some young boy just got killed in Memphis when he got out to help some women
Damn that's fukked up! Equal rights
Learn to fix your own damn tire.![]()

You in the Atlanta area? What side of town were you stuck on?
