I was wrong about Harden in Houston, but let's not forget Russ, Durant & Harden all the made the Finals on the same team.

I'd point to the fact that Melo had no idea what the terms of the nuggets/Knicks trade would be nor has any authority on which players would be traded - that was all Donnie Walsh.
But, that wouldn't be enough right? I mean, people want to say that they hate Melo because of his lack of defense, but let's stop acting like when you buy a 4 door family sedan, you say you expected it to be a convertible. Why are people surprised at Melo about defense when that was never the highlight of his game?
What's crazy is when the organization did right by him in 2013, he stepped up defensively.
Yet, nikkas will still irrationally hate. nikkas will still say he should have given 150% during the years when the best they could do is have JR as his second option. nikkas will still say this athlete didn't deserve some type of effort by Phil when the contract was signed to put a good team around him.
