Jays career eclipses Nas' in every category by a long shot. He has more classic songs, money than Nas, and a more successful marriage/personal life. He will go down in history as one of the best to ever do it. Nas will go down in history for one album basically. Takeover was a better overall RECORD than Ether. Ethers beat was trash Lololol. Also Kay's ONE verse hit harder than Nas' three verses and was the TRUTH. As a matter of fact, jays statements about Nas still hold weight today. Nas' legacy is illmatic...he's had other great albums but he is largely irrelevant at the moment. Jay will continue to be relevant until he decides to hang it up. Nobody gives a fukk about bum ass Nas outside of the Coli, LIG was wack lol. When I was 14, I thought ether was better than the takeover but 12 yrs later as an adult my views have completely changed. N let's say for arguments sake Ether> Takeover, Nas still let his career slip something serious n is no where even close to what Jay has accomplished as an artist. U think these new rappers aspire to b like Nas?? :heh: yeah right, Hov laid the blueprint for what being successful means in hip hop. Great battle tho, def the GOAT. But Jay won the war :umad:

Why do nikkas even argue with Nas fans anymore? :what:

It's a waste of time. They already have their minds made up that they will troll Jay fans until their dying day. :snoop:

Ether is Nas's 2nd greatest achievement behind Illmatic and his only significant moment of the past 15 years. Of course they're gonna run with it to the end of time. :manny:

The East/West comparison is still relevant IMO, bcuz there is a bunch of new rappers in the game now coming from both coasts, so you can compare them

but if you were talking about the 90s East/West beef, then yes it's stupid as fukk too

smh at Jay stans sayin the ether beat was trash.... it was originally meant for jay

Over the summer, "Ether" producer Ron Browz said Jay had an opportunity to snag the beat.

"It was just one of them beats that I let everybody hear," Browz explained in an interview. "Whoever came to the house, I was like, 'Yo hear this.' One of Jay's A&R's actually came to the house to hear that beat too. He said he was gonna give it to Jay, but I guess it never got in his hands. I went through a travel agent to get to Nas, and it got in Nas' hands. I guess it got to him at the perfect time. Nas was like, 'Come to the studio and hear what I did'."

if jay used to tho....itd be a diff story.... jay stans are disgusting

I was alive when this happened lol...I heard jay live on the radio, Ether definitely had an affect on him. But was it career ending? Hell no. N that's the bottom line. At the end of the day, it couldn't do anything to really destroy his credibility as an artist. He continued to drop consistently good music, whereas Nas has been very hit n miss. N don't get it twisted, in from Queens, Nas is the man. But please guys, lets not lie to ourselves for the sake of pissing ppl off.

In all honesty it's pretty obvious it's the first time a bunch of you have heard this song...

N'all. It's just all they play besides Life Is Good.

Mainly because everything Nas has released between Ether and LIG is nowhere as good as those two projects.

Like I said, Nas fans should be riding that song until the end of time.
