The East in the 80's had the Celtics, Sixers, Pistons, even the Bucks were good.

The West had the Lakers dominating with the Rockets making a couple runs.

It was tough for any team to go back to back those years.

Case in point, NOBODY was going back-to-back until the Lakers did it in the late 80s; ever since then though, going back-to-back has been the norm.
