Yeah, some good poster did that to me in a Star Trek thread one time. We slightly disagreed, they saw my rep after some a$$hole negged me over some petty shyt, and was hesitant in trusting me. Glad she said it was because of my -10 rep. I got mad at the poster who negged me and not the one who was hesitant to get into a best captain debate because she thought I might have been a troll because of that red rep, as it was her prerogative.
Another poster hooked me up on the spot when I got mad about it (I didn't care about that, just daps at that point...I care a bit now tho lol), and we all were cool from there. So reps kinda matter, but Blacks do that hive think too much, so it shouldn't really count in the long term. Don't need to have everyone sucking each other's dikks all the time, but outside the GOP, Blacks are the 2nd highest group that's insecure when everyone of them (in a group) don't believe the same thing.
