think of how it would have felt as a kid growing up if your parents were like "We're going to get you a great gaming system! are you excited!" and you're sitting there thinking "Aw damn I'm gonna get a nes/snes/ whatever the hell was the hot shyt when you were a kid, I'm gonna destroy my friends in some street fighter"

Then they show up with a goddamn atari pong console like "This was all the rage when we were younger! you're gonna love it"
meanwhile you're like "the fukk is this shyt???"

That's basically what you're going to do to your son.

I second this. Target near me had them on sale for 85$ for an OG 3ds and 100$ for a 3ds xl last week. there are deals to be had, and your kid will appreciate it much more than a 25 year old system you probably paid around the same price for.

Already had that (cousins possibly stole it), an iPad (acting up in school, sold it) and a nook HD (washed it under a running faucet)....
